Qatargas, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior's Community Policing Division, recently undertook an extensive security awareness programme in Al Khor Community (AKC). The two-month programme, which included a series of lectures and practical sessions on a wide range of common security challenges, addressed residents, students and security personnel in AKC.Speaking at the event, Hamad Mohammed Al-Mannai, Head of Security, Safety & Environment at Al Khor Community said the security awareness programme was aimed at educating the residents, students and security personnel of Al Khor Community on key security issues thereby contributing towards the State of Qatar's concerted efforts to accomplish the highest standards of safety and security for all.Colonel Sultan Mohammed Al Kaabi, Assistant Director of Community Policing Department said the programme was designed based on the Ministry's past experience in dealing with a wide range of security challenges across the country. The information and experience shared during the programme helped the audience update themselves on important security challenges ahead and ensure their safety and security within the community and beyond. Security personnel at AKC were also briefed on the services of Community Police and how to engage them in dealing with different security challenges. All of these underscore the fact that security is a shared responsibility of all.Lectures delivered as part of the programme covered topics like School Violence, Dangers and Risks of Smoking, Fire Prevention, Drug-Related Risks, Dealing with Suspicious Acts in Public, Controlling Traffic at AKC, and Interaction with Security Department. The security awareness programme forms part of Qatargas' corporate social responsibility activities which include, among others, different community outreach initiatives.
